BRITISH journalist and TV presenter Dan Walker has received an honorary degree from Solent University.
The former BBC Breakfast host has been awarded a Doctor of Media for his services to journalism.
He accepted the honour onstage during a graduation ceremony at Southampton Guildhall today.
In a tweet, he said: "Thank you so much to Solent University for inviting me here today to receive an honorary doctorate.
"I am truly humbled.
"It was lovely to be back at the university and to meet so many people.
"All the best to all those graduating who have to wear hats and cloaks in 30-degree heat."
