EX Oysterband member Ray Cooper will perform in an intimate gig at a tiny Hampshire church this week.

The singer-songwriter will be supported by popular local musician Jim Chorley at Chapel Sessions, a not-for-profit occasional music series at St Edward's Church in Netley.

Ray Cooper is a story-led, acoustic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, accompanying his songs on guitar, mandolin, cello, harmonica and piano.

Stories are at the centre of his work and his fourth solo album, ‘Land of Heroes’, follows the question: who are today’s heroes? He finds them in all walks of life.

Ray was a member of the acclaimed folk-rock group Oysterband for 23 years, using the stage name Chopper. With them, he toured in 27 countries and recorded 19 albums, winning multiple awards.

Despite their success, Ray decided to leave the band in 2013 and has since carved out a successful solo career, recording four albums and touring extensively worldwide.

Tickets are on sale from Eventbrite or by calling 07702980677.
