A SOUTHAMPTON post office that closed four years ago is set to reopen.

Bassett Post Office will reopen this September with a new postmaster on Winchester Road.

The branch has been closed since 2018 when the store where it was based closed down.

The site has now reopened as a Let's Go Local Store.

The service will be operating from the same premises offering a range of post office products and services.

It will be open from 7am to 10pm on Monday to Saturday, and from 8am to 9pm on Sunday.

Graham Brander, Post Office Network Lead, said: “We are delighted to be restoring Post Office services to Bassett as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.

"The opening hours will also make it very convenient to visit.”

The post office will reopen on Thursday, September 15, at 1pm.
