TRAVELLERS have set up camp on Southampton Sports Centre.
Around 30 caravans and cars are parked on the site.
It is understood they gained entry via Dunkirk Road on Friday.
A large police presence was spotted in the area around 3pm yesterday, according to a resident.
Hampshire police has confirmed it is aware of the unauthorised encampment.
A spokesperson said officers have attended the site to assess the situation and are working with the landowners "to seek a suitable resolution".
