TRAFFIC was held on a busy route while firefighters tackled a blaze in the undergrowth.
Crews were called to the A35 between Lyndhurst and Christchurch this afternoon to deal with an undergrowth fire by the side of the road at Wilverley Post.
Teams from New Milton and Christchurch attended also with a water carrier from Ringwood and an off-road appliance from Lyndhurst.
The firefighters were able to stop the flames from spreading into Wilverley Enclosure.
Traffic was held for around 20 minutes while crews extinguished the blaze, which cause long delays.
