BODY WORN Video shows the seconds before a motorist dragged a policeman along by his arm.

'Can you just take your keys out the engine?' says PC Mark Farley to Sonny Horgan.

However, the 21-year-old recklessly disregards his request and turns the ignition on, in footage released by Hampshire police.

Southampton Crown Court heard that Horgan dumped his vehicle and was chased down on foot during his attempted getaway last April.

He had been flagged by police for acting suspiciously, and when officers smelt cannabis coming from his vehicle, asked him to kill the engine.

Horgan, of Orchard Way in Dibden Purlieu, later admitted to dangerous driving, assault by beating of an emergency worker, failing to co-operate with a preliminary breath test, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and possession of a Class B drug.

He was jailed for 12 months and banned from driving for three and a half years.
