POLICE rushed to a Southampton garage today after two people attempted to steal fuel.

Officers were called to the Shell Roselands garage on Redbridge Road earlier this morning following reports of the attempted theft.

Police have been in the area for most of the morning.

Witnesses claim officers were searching nearby bushes and the area around Second Avenue while making enquiries.

A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "Police have attended the Shell Roselands garage on Redbridge Road, following reports of two people attempting to steal fuel.

"Officers are on scene making enquiries."
