IT has become the biggest and best copycat music show on the south coast.

PhoneyFEST at Eastleigh's Concorde Club is marking its tenth anniversary with 40 live acts spread over three stages in August.

Thousands of music fans will converge on the Stoneham Lane club for the three-day event, which runs from August 19 to 21.

There they will salute a galaxy of multi-million selling recording artists by singing and dancing along to some of the best tributes in the business.

The Concorde's Jamie Mathieson is the driving force behind PhoneyFEST, drawing from his wealth of industry contacts to put on a brilliant festival each year.

He told the Daily Echo: "We welcome back again 40 of the greatest tributes over one weekend. Always a great weekend and a firm fixture in the Concorde calendar."

Daily Echo:

From Pink to Robbie Williams, Dolly Parton to Jersey Boys, Tom Jones to Rod Stewart and Ellie Goulding to Queen, PhoneyFEST boasts tributes to some of the best acts from throughout the decades of musical history.

The soundalike playlist also includes nods to Ed Sheeran, Bryan Adams, Oasis, Bob Marley, Madonna, Elton John, Elvis Presley, Abba, Cher, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Dusty Springfield.

Simply Springsteen will kick off the event on the Friday evevning before tributes to Adele, Take That, Madonna and Shania Twain. Vicky Jackson closes the event with her Pink take off.

The tribute festival also boasts outside and inside bars and the choice of a barbecue, pizza, bar snacks or three-course fine dining, plus a gift shop for all your merchandise needs. You can also listen and camp under the stars as The Concorde lays on a glamping field.

Popular PhoneyFEST is a previous winner of the Venue of the Year title at the National Tribute Music Awards.

The tribute business is booming and has grown into a multi-million pound industry at a time when mega gigs by stadium stars become more costly and tribute acts offer intimacy, accessibility and more fun for a fraction of the price.
