THE following cases were heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...

ANDREW DOWNER, 22, of Desborough Road, Eastleigh. Admitted one charge of assault by beating. Ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months. Also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95 and court costs of £85.

WAYNE STEDMAN, 51, of Medlar Close, Hedge End. Admitted one charge of assault by beating. Remanded on unconditional bail until next hearing on August 24 for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

LEE NIGEL REDELL, 43, of Saxon Square, Christchurch. Admitted two charges of making a phone call that was grossly offensive in Bursledon. Jailed for 14 weeks suspended for 24 months and handed a restraining order banning him from contacting two people or visiting their address until July 26, 2024. Also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £128 and court costs of £350.

MARK BIGGS, 55, of Bird Field, Chandler's Ford. Admitted one charge of speeding at 87mph in a 70mph zone. Fined £40 and driving licence endorsed with three points. Also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £26.

ALAN BOODY, 51, of Vermont Close, Southampton. Admitted one charge of speeding at 35mph in a 30mph zone. Fined £40 and driving licence endorsed with three points. Also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £26.

DANIEL COLLETT, 20, of Victory Road, Southampton. Admitted one charge of criminal damage. Discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay compensation of £400. Also ordered to pay court costs of £85.

ADAM GALE, 30, of Brook Court, Calmore. Admitted one charge of the possession of Diazepam - a Class C drug. Discharged conditionally for 12 months and drugs seized and destroyed. Also ordered to pay court costs of £85.

CRAIG KINGMAN, 21, of Shorts Road, Fair Oak. Admitted one charge of failing to identify the driver of a BMW who was alleged to have committed an offence. Fined £556 and driving licence endorsed with six points. Also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £56 and court costs of £85.

IAN HOWELL, 45, of Forest Road, Southampton. Admitted one charge of driving without a licence and one charge of driving without insurance. Fined £120 and driving licence endorsed with six points. Also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £41 and court costs of £85.

JASON BADDAMS, 29, of Proctor Drive, North Baddesley. Admitted one charge of using threatening and abusive language and behaviour. Fined £150 and handed a restraining order banning him from contacting a woman directly or indirectly until July 25, 2027. Also ordered to pay £500 compensation as well as a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £85.
