A SOUTHAMPTON man arrested on suspicion of drug dealing "flicked a cigarette" at police.
Officers on routine patrol in Eastleigh yesterday, July 28, have arrested a man after he was seen acting suspiciously at around 5.45pm in Viscount Gardens.
When he walked by the police, they noted a "strong smell" of cannabis.
The man was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act in which a quantity of suspected Class A drugs, a quantity of Class B drugs, a quantity of cash as well as a number of mobile devices where found. These were all seized.
A 22-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A and Class B drugs.
While waiting to be transported to custody, it is alleged that the man flicked a cigarette at one of the officers - he was further arrested for assaulting an emergency worker.
He remains in police custody.
