If you're looking for new restaurants to try out in Southampton, you might be in luck.
A number of new eateries have recently opened their doors across the city, ranging from burger bars to tapas places, Italian and Asian restaurants.
Most of them are independent businesses and have already received very good reviews.
Below are five of the newest restaurants worth checking out:
Figurati!
This Italian restaurant in Ocean Village boasts lovely views over the marina.
It was opened by entrepreneur Chris Schutrups, who runs the Hunters Inn in Romsey and the Dolphin Inn in Hursley, at the start of last month.
The name Figurati! means “no worries” in Italian.
Its menu includes pasta and risotto dishes as well as a selection of pizzas, steaks and seafood.
In true Italian fashion, tiramisu is one of the desserts.
Blue's Smokehouse
This American-style restaurant is now open in Above Bar Street in the premises previously occupied by The Stables.
The popular BBQ restaurant has venues in Newbury and Bracknell.
Although it's famous for its meat dishes, it offers vegan options too.
Quayside
Opened by former colleagues, Mike Lawrence and Paul Nicholson, Quayside sits in the centre of Woolston’s Centenary Quay.
Its official launch took place at the end of last month.
Quayside offers a selection of wines, cocktails and tapas. The menu could be updated as often as every three months.
The Cedar Rooms
Although not exactly in Southampton, this new restaurant is close enough, especially for those planning a day out with kids.
The Cedar Rooms has opened its doors in a newly-revamped space at Royal Victoria Country Park.
Taking over the former Netley Hospital site, the new eatery serves a selection of handmade sourdough pizzas from a traditional style pizza oven.
Park-goers will also be treated to ice-creams and other refreshments.
Bangerz 'n' Burgerz
This colourful burger place in Above Bar Street is the seventh Bangerz 'n' Burgerz restaurant in the UK.
Its unique interior features bright artwork and graffiti from different artists.
Bangerz 'n' Burgerz offers a variety of American-style burgers, chips, cocktails and beers.
Its launch was delayed by two years because of the pandemic.
