A COUNCIL leader has welcomed a legal victory for Southampton's Airport's runway extension saying it will create jobs.
Keith House, leader of Eastleigh Borough Council said it is good news that a judicial review into planning permission for the runway plans was refused an appeal.
There can now be no more challenges to the planning permission after it was refused on all grounds.

The ruling found that none of the grounds of appeal raised by residents' campaign group GOESA Ltd had a real prospect of success and there was no other reason for the appeal to be heard.
Cllr House said: “This is good news to get this issue resolved and supports the decision made by the council to permit Southampton International Airport Ltd’s application.”
"It’s important we were able to support the airport and its future, and also help to grow jobs for the economy in these tough times.
"We now look forward to working with Southampton Airport as they start work on their scheme.”
