ANOTHER heatwave is expected to hit Southampton this week.

Residents can expect a second scorcher as temperatures in the city are expected to hit highs of 28C, the Met Office predicts.

Today, it is expected to hit around 27C with the hot spell reaching its peak on Friday at 28C.

The hot weather will continue over the weekend.

With hot weather comes high UV levels, so it is important to make sure you wear sun cream to protect yourself.

At the start of July, a Level 3 heatwave saw traffic disruption, health warnings and school closures across the city.

Temperatures reached the low 30s and a heatwave warning was issued.
