FIREFIGHTERS were called to a heath fire that is thought to have been started deliberately.

Police say youths on bikes were seen fleeing the area after the blaze broke out at Fawley enclosure yesterday.

Crews from Hythe and Hardley fire stations dealt with the incident - the latest in a series.

Waterside Cops tweeted: "Our colleagues from Hampshire Fire and Rescue have again had to turn out for a heath fire in Fawley enclosure.

"Youths on bikes were seen fleeing the area and it's suspected the cause of the fire is deliberate.

"Officers are investigating the suspected arson but encourage walkers and cyclists in the area to be extra vigilant.

"If you spot anything suspicious in the forest, you think might be related to these incidents please report it straight away on 999."
