IT'S the biggest date in the city's annual calendar and it's only just over a month away. 

Southampton International Boat Show returns to Mayflower Park from Friday September 16 to Sunday September 25.

Britain’s biggest festival of boating takes place on the shores of the Solent each year.

The whole family can experience life on the water at Europe’s largest purpose-built show marina, with a spectacular backdrop featuring kayaks to catamarans, SUPS to superyachts and the world’s most exciting and innovative boats.

The show is back with firm family favourites from previous years, alongside multiple new attractions including the chance to swim 1.25km in the iconic Southampton docks, past tall ships and super yachts.

Whether you’re a boating enthusiast or are looking to dip your toes in the water for the first time, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The On the Water Zone hosts a whole selection of watersports under expert guidance, from paddleboards and kayaks to dinghy sailing.

Aside from some of the best boats in the industry and 650 marine brands from all over the globe, ticket holders can find holidays, books, courses, clothing and kit. 

Fresh-out-of-the-water oysters, an array of international street food,  Champagne and cocktails are among the food and drink on offer.

Listen to talks by experts on a whole host of topics from Swallows and Amazons to buying a boat; rowing the Atlantic to flare disposal.

Classic boat enthusiasts and seasoned boaters will also be able to find all the equipment they need to keep their treasures gliding across the water. 

Thousands of families, business leaders, entrepreneurs and boating enthusiasts flock to Southampton for the huge international event each year. It sees hotel rooms across the city and beyond at capacity and nearby restaurants packed throughout the ten-day event.

Last year, Made in Chelsea and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here star Georgia Toffolo was joined by the British Olympic Sailing Team to officially open the event, which was cancelled the previous year due to the pandemic.
