A BOUTIQUE hotel is undergoing a multi-million pound revamp as part of a major redevelopment.

Stanwell House, in the centre of Lymington, is having extensive work done to the hotel and is expected to be completed and open to the public this winter.

Whilst the Georgian-style design will be kept, the refurbishment is expected to provide a refreshing, modern twist.

The bedrooms will be completely redesigned alongside en-suite bathrooms with rich colours and high-end products.

Additional spaces for dining and entertaining have been reinvented, with the old bar transformed into a welcoming reception and the former bistro becoming home to an entirely new bar space.

Having also repurposed part of the kitchen to extend the area, the space has been completely reimagined and now seats up to 50 guests.

The renovated settings now offer three “unique” dining experiences, with guests given the option to choose from a new restaurant specialising in seafood, a bar serving gastro pub food made with fresh local ingredients or a cocktail bar.

Lance Bartlett, general manager of Stanwell House, said: “The refurbishment so far has been nothing less than meticulous in order to ensure our boutique hotel is of the highest standard.

“Working with a Grade II listed building like Stanwell House requires striking the right balance between creating a contemporary environment, whilst also being sympathetic to its character and history.

“In addition, we have taken time and care to ensure that our plans are in keeping with the Georgian style of the building, as well as working with the local authority to obtain the necessary planning permission.

“We aim to not only improve the aesthetics of our hotel, but also widen our offerings to include welcome additions such as our new bar and events space.”

Lance added: “Ultimately, our main objective is to create a charming, welcoming and family-friendly space for locals and visitors alike to enjoy.

“Whilst our renovations are still on-going, we are excited to be able to share some of the amazing progress to give the general public a feel of what’s to come.”
