THIS Hampshire pub has been cooking up a storm since its £1.3 million refurbishment.

The Talisman, a historic pub in the heart of Park Gate, has served more than 37,000 meals to foodie-fanatics, families and familiar faces since it reopened nearly six months ago.

Owned by Hall & Woodhouse, the Bridge Road pub has been welcoming a host of new and old customers since revealing an entirely revamped space to drink and dine in.

It was closed for a total of five months for the extensive work to take place.

The brass-gilded bar now sits proudly at the centre of the pub, which is able to cater for more than 200 guests at a time.

The Talisman now has a beautiful outdoor terrace, which is proving the perfect sun trap this summer. Many customers have been enjoying a glass of rose or a pint of beer with their al fresco brunch, lunch or dinner.

Daily Echo:

The pub's seven spacious rooms each have their own unique interior and fireplace.

The popular and family-friendly venue, which used to nestle alongside some of the country’s most fertile strawberry fields, boasts a delicious menu of hearty food and a range of beers, wines and cocktails.

General Manager Harriet Chase told the Daily Echo: “The refurbishment is beautiful and has provided us with many fantastic offerings and spaces for guests to enjoy.

Daily Echo:

“Each room has a different atmosphere and we can cater for couples, families, birthdays, work events or just coffee and a catch up. You can choose what kind of experience you would like.

“We have still captured the history of the Talisman within the refurbishment while adding new details which are just breathtaking. From the photos on the wall to the types of chandeliers we have chosen, every detail has a purpose and we love showing it to new and regular customers.”

Since its reopening the pub has pulled a whopping 45,000 pints, served nearly 2,000 roast dinners and the team has doubled to 30 members of staff.

Daily Echo:

The Talisman is hosting live music every Friday night during August.

Music lovers can tuck in to pub classics like steak and ale pie, fish and chips, steaks, burgers and salads, followed by a sticky toffee pudding, brownie, ice cream or sorbet while enjoying some tunes.

Or they can get ready for a dance with a Badger Beer, a Brooklyn Lager or a Conker Dorset Dry gin.
