AN INVESTIGATION continues after a man was arrested on suspicion of sexual offences with a dog.

Police investigating the report have said the crime remains under investigation following an incident involving an animal in Gosport.

Last year, a man in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of a sexual offence involving a living animal.

Officers received reports of a "man having sex with a dog" in Cornwell Close, Rowner, Gosport.

The dog was seized and taken into the care of kennels.

The man has since been released from custody, however, the investigation continues.

A spokesperson from Hampshire police said: "We can confirm that a man in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of a sexual offence involving a living animal.

"This follows an incident involving a dog at an address in Gosport, which was reported to police shortly after 8pm on 27 October.

"The dog has been seized and taken into the care of kennels.

"The man has been released from custody but remains under investigation while enquiries continue."
