FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze in the early hours of the morning after grass near a roundabout set alight.
Crews from Dorchester were called to the scene at 2.19am today to tackle the fire near Monkeys Jump Roundabout in Dorchester.
A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "In the early hours of this morning a member of the public reported seeing grass alight near to Monkey's Jump Roundabout. Crews from Dorchester Fire Station sped to the scene where an area of grass approximately 5m x 5m was alight.
"The fire was extinguished using two hose reel jets and hay drags.
"The cause of the fire was believed to be self-ignition."
