FIREFIGHTERS raced to a derelict car showroom after a blaze broke out.
Crews from across Southampton were called to the former Doves Vauxhall site off The Avenue.
Emergency services were alerted at around 7.30am on Thursday when a started inside a shed.
It caused damage to a fence at a property on nearby Brighton Road.
Crews from St Mary’s, Redbridge and Hightown Fire Stations were on the scene.
They used jets to extinguish the flames, however, the cause is still unknown.
According to Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, the fire may be linked to the hot weather.
An investigation has not been launched at this stage and police are not involved.
