A MAIN road has been closed due to a police incident.
Officers are currently on the scene on the A27.
UPDATE: Pedestrian suffers serious injuries after collision with vehicle
The road is closed in both directions between the junctions of the A3057 and Bypass Road in Romsey.
Traffic is building in the area and motorists have been urged to avoid the route.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "We’re currently dealing with an incident on the A27 between the junctions of the A3057 and By-Pass Road in Romsey meaning we have had to close the road in both directions.
"Please avoid the area if you can.
"If you’re currently stuck in traffic, please be patient. We’ll get things moving again as soon as we possibly can."
