A WARNING has been issued for eight local beaches after sewage was pumped into the Solent.
A heavy downpour last night has sparked the spillage at eight beaches in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The information has come from campaign group, Surfers Against Sewage, which has a live interactive map that tracks sewage spillages across the UK's coast.
It is said that some outpours could affect bathing water quality after heavy rain.
The affected areas are currently Fareham, Lee-on-the-Solent, Portsmouth, Hayling Island, and the Isle of Wight.
