UPDATE: All lanes have now been cleared and police have given an update on the incident.

THREE lanes of traffic have been blocked on the M27 after a crash.
Lanes one, two and three are currently blocked between junction 8 at Bursledon and junction 9 for Park Gare.
This is due to a crash at around 3.45pm. Delays are currently back to junction 5 for Eastleigh.

The AA says there are "severe delays" increasing on the Eastbound carriageway.
There is an average speed of ten miles an hour with current delays of 20 minutes according to National Highways.
A tweet from National Highway: "South-East reads: Lanes 1,2 & 3 (of 4) are closed on the #M27 east between J8 (#Bursledon) and J9 (#Whiteley) due to a multi vehicle collision.

"Emergency services and Traffic Officers are working at scene.
"There are 4 miles of congestion on approach causing 20 min delays above normal travel time."
