SUPERMARKETS, post offices, restaurants, cafes and more will be closed on the day of the Queen's funeral.

A national bank holiday has been declared to mark the occasion on Monday.

Here is the list of all key shops and services closed on the bank holiday:

Bin collections

No bin collections will take place on the bank holiday with all collections moved a day later than normal.

A catch-up collection for general waste bins that would have been collected on Friday September 23 will take place on Saturday September 24 instead.

Recycling, glass and garden waste collections that would have been made next Friday will not be made until the next scheduled calendar collection date.

The tip in Millbrook will also shut as will others across the county.

Libraries

All council-run libraries will be closed but will be open 9am to 5pm over the weekend for visitors to sign the Book of Condolence

Books of Condolence are available at Central Library, Bitterne Library, and Shirley Library during opening hours until closing on Tuesday.

There is also a digital Book of Condolence which you can sign by visiting the Royal Family website.

Post offices

Royal Mail has suspended all services on Monday.

CEO, Simon Thompson, said: "We are proud that over the coming days Royal Mail will play an important role in delivering messages of condolence from all around the world to the Royal family.

"We want to make our customers aware that services will be suspended on the day of the funeral.

"As people come together to honor Her Majesty, after 70 years of exemplary service to the nation and the Commonwealth."

Schools

All schools will be closed.

Travel

Southern Western Rail's strike action will pause temporarily for the Queen's funeral.

The picket lines were set to hit rail transport over the weekend.

Southern Western Rail said in a statement: "At a time of national mourning, we are united with the rest of the railway family in sending our condolences to His Majesty The King and the whole Royal Family."

Bluestar and First Buses across Southampton will be running on a Sunday timetable for the bank holiday.

Venues

The Civic centre reception, all museums and the Art Gallery, and Active Nation leisure venues will close.

Supermarkets Sainsbury's, Aldi, Tesco, Waitrose, Marks & Spencers, Poundland, and Lidl have all confirmed plans to close on Monday.
