FAREHAM Mayor Councillor Katrina Trott will be playing host to the borough's unsung heroes on Tuesday.
An evening to celebrate volunteering is being staged in the council chamber.
Volunteers who have made an exceptional commitment to local organisations will be presented with volunteering award lapel badges bearing a bright sunflower logo, which have been purchased by the mayor.
The event is being co-organised by the volunteer centre at Fareham Community Action.
Response There has been a fantastic response to their request for nominees with almost 150 local people receiving an award.
Forty of them have volunteered for ten years or more and one very special volunteer has made an outstanding 30-year commitment to a local group.
Fareham Volunteer Centre is open every weekday morning to welcome inquiries from new volunteers.
