A FORMER coffee shop could soon be turned into a mini golf venue.

Gilmore Golf and Games Ltd is looking to bring a new leisure and entertainment venue to Southampton city centre.

The company has submitted plans to install signage over the former Costa Coffee shop on Above Bar Street.

The owners are also seeking a premises licence from the city council to sell alcohol.

If approved, the venue will have a bar and will supply craft beers, cocktails, and other drinks. Daily Echo: Newsquest Newsquest (Image: Newsquest)

In the licencing application, the applicant said: "We will focus on becoming an active contributor to the Guildhall Square community, culture, and surrounding areas, which we hope adds value for its residents and our neighbours, and we will commit to ongoing respect and positive engagement with all our stakeholders."

The arcade will also have CCTV, which will be operated 24 hours a day with cameras placed in all public areas and specific staff areas.

The application says children will be permitted on-site throughout the day.

They will only be permitted on-site after 7pm when accompanied by an adult.

The arcade will play recorded music indoors and will be open from 10am until 10pm
