THREE hardcore bikers with hearts of golds are undertaking a mammoth ride to raise money for charity.
Carl Lewis and brothers John and Shane Lee will be aiming to bike all the way from Land's End to John O'Groats - a full 847 miles - in just one day.
Setting off on their Harley Davidsons at first light at 4.30am on June 21, officially the longest day of the year, they hope to arrive in John O'Groats by the time it is dark at 10.30pm the same day.
Along the way, the three, who are all members of the New Forest Harley Owners' Group, will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and have set themselves a £3,000 target.
John and Shane have a personal reason for taking on the challenge. They lost their mum Shirley Lee, who was 66, to cancer earlier this year and Macmillan nurses cared her for.
Carl's mother used to be a Macmillan nurse.
John, who lives in Thornhill Park, Southampton, said: "We wanted to do this challenge anyway and, after seeing the amount of help my mum and we got from Macmillan, we wanted to give something back to them.
"The route is about the longest you can do from A to B in Britain and we are adding an extra twist to the challenge by aiming to complete it in daylight hours."
If they are successful, the trio will get an award and become members of the Iron Butt Association of the world's toughest motorcycle riders.
