FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze which destroyed a shed and caused severe damage to a garage at a home in Eastleigh town centre last night.
They were called to the terrace house in Chestnut Avenue just before 11 pm after neighbours raised the alarm.
Twelve firefighters, who were on the scene for about 90 minutes, wore breathing sets as the flames engulfed a shed and spread to a garage.
Guttering on a nearby house melted under the intense heat.
