PUPILS at Wildern School are celebrating after scooping both first and second prize in the Faith and Football Enterprise Challenge.
Now in its third year this was the first time Southampton schools took part in the competition that asks youngsters to launch and run their own businesses for five months.
A total of 70 teams comprising of hundreds of pupils from across Hampshire took part in the competition that sees all profits donated to the charity.
The runners up prize went to 'Bows and Buttons' from Wildern School, who made jewellery accessories from old bows and buttons and sold them.
The winning team were 'Recipe for success' another team from Wildern School, who created recipes from across the world, cooked them, photographed them and then sold the recipe books.
The youngsters will now join the winning team from Portsmouth on a trip to Goa to see Portsmouth footballer Linvoy Primus's Charity in operation amongst the orphan villages.
Business mentor for Wildern School, Denis Bundy, also the commercial director for Eastleigh FC, said: "I have to be the proudest man in the Southampton area at present. The amount of dedication and hard work that has gone in not just from Wildern but across Southampton has been immense. To see the faces of the winners as the announcement was made will live with me forever. Great kids, great work, great staff and a great challenge. To all teams, keep this experience going and long may it continue".
