A NEW lounge bar serving fresh food and drinks has opened on one of Southampton's busiest streets.
The former Santorini restaurant has been transformed into a new bar and eatery called Amira Lounge.
The restaurant on Foys Corner in Shirley offers a range of fresh food but takes pride in its seafood and steak dishes.
While it's only been open for four days, the venue has already attracted many new customers.
Manager, Jose Roberto, said: "The first few days have been good for us and we've had a good sale too.
"Our customers have given us good feedback and we expect the restaurant to get busier soon.
"We just want people to have a good time with us, and they can come down and relax with some good food and drinks."
The premises has submitted an application to serve alcohol.
When the licence is approved, cocktails will be added to the menu.
So far, the independent restaurant has created eight jobs and plans to expand and open more branches throughout the city.
The owners have invested in the refurbishment of the entire site and have bought new furniture.
While the eatery is already open for business, they are still putting the finishing touches.
Soon they will be adding TVs inside the lounge.
Jose, who has nine years of experience working in the bar and hospitality industry, added: "I really enjoy working here; it's a great place to be at.
"We'll see how this lounge works out for us, but we would love to make this place successful."
