DRIVERS are being urged to plan their journeys ahead as Southampton is expected to be busy this weekend.
Queues are expected in the coming days due to several events taking place in the city.
Several cruise ships are departing from the city this weekend, the Trans Pride march is taking place on Saturday afternoon and Saints are going head-to-head with West Ham at St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday.
Drivers are advised to plan any journeys to the city centre or to the waterfront in advance.
South Western Railway Services (SWR) is urging customers to travel if "absolutely necessary" and to allow extra time as main lines routes between Hampshire, Dorset and Devon will be significantly disrupted by engineering works this weekend.
On Saturday engineering works will close the line between Bournemouth and Southampton and Sunday these works will be extended to Eastleigh.
The lines between Southampton and Fareham via Netley will also be closed.
Due to nationwide shortages of bus drivers, skeleton bus replacement services will be in place over the weekend with less overall capacity.
SWR has apologised to customers who will be impacted by these engineering works.
High traffic volumes are expected in the city this weekend due to several cruise departures and football at St Marys Stadium.
