THESE pictures of Southampton's first German market were taken when the city experienced its first taste of precinct-based Christmas-time Bratwurst and mulled wine.
As the city hosted the first Christmas market of its kind, shoppers revelled in the festive mood.
Oompah bands and the smell of German sausage, wines and beers added to the party atmosphere as Christmas festivities kicked off in Above Bar on November 19, 2004.
The market was open daily until December 23 selling traditional German wares and top-quality food and drink.
