AN ELECTRIC go karting track has re-launched after three months of refurbishments.

Teamsports indoor karting re-opened on Friday with newly added features after 13 weeks of intensive work.

With refurbishments worth £1.7 million, the venue offers not only two floors of karting track but also a new area for mini golf, an arcade and a new socialising area.

Opening the doors to the remodelled location in Eastleigh, project manager Dave Rich, 44, said: “We have been able to do something really special here unlike anything we’ve done in the UK.

“The new colour, and look with the bar area, mini golf and the arcade has made this site from being the oldest and under-invested site to our newest and most invested site.”

“It took three months to do everything from start to finish and that includes ripping out pretty much everything that was here initially and then starting from scratch.”

The new site, which includes all-new mini golf, a restaurant area and a new track, provides now more activities for the public to enjoy, all in one place.

Mr Rich said: “People want to do more with their leisure, and they want to do it in one place and that has born this new hub experience where you can do karting, but you can also do in-door golf and have some nice food and a drink and something with the kids with the arcade.

“So, our progression is more towards multi-activity centres but not losing our focus on the karts because that’s our hero product.

“For us, it’s all about the driving experience, we don’t want people to come and have a nice shiny centre and everything looks really good but actually the driving experience isn’t that good so for us is about creating a unique multi-level circuit that is fun to drive.”

Lastly, customers should expect nothing less than fun when they step into the venue.

Mr Rich said: "As you walk into our site it says it’s about to get awesome, it’s about coming in and having an awesome experience and something for everyone."
