Hampshire, like much of the UK, has seen some remarkably mild temperatures this late autumn period, so the question might be when the real winter period is going to kick in?

Outside of Storm Claudio having affected much of southern England in the last few days, much of the weather has been quite calm.

Whilst the rainy weather looks set to continue for a little while, the temperatures themselves won't be quite like winter ones just yet.

Here is when it is most likely for temperatures to drop in Hampshire this year.

When will it get cold in Hampshire this year?

According to the Met Office the weather generally in the UK will stay rather mild until about halfway through November.

For the Met Office's long-term forecast for the UK they wrote: "A transition to more settled weather is expected during this period. While changeable conditions with spells of rain are still possible, especially at first, high pressure will become more likely in the vicinity of the UK, probably bringing drier and somewhat colder weather overall.

"With this increased likelihood of high pressure, overnight frost and fog are also expected to become more frequent."

Therefore it is most likely that sometime shortly after Wednesday, November 16 temperatures will take a drop to the usual winter standard.
