A DANCER from Southampton is now living her dream at the Moulin Rouge in Paris.

Alex Dallimore is performing at the most famous cabaret in the world, which has been running for 133 years.

The 24-year-old has always had a passion for dancing and joined The Creative Academy in Slough at the age of 18.

After finishing her degree, she signed her first professional contract in Germany at Vegas Showgirls.

Alex then moved to France and danced at the cabaret Royal Palace in Alsace and joined the troupe of the Cirque d'Hiver Bouglione.

She was overwhelmed when she got the call from Janet Pharaoh, the Moulin Rouge Company Manager, to join the cast of 60 dancers, including 19 from the UK.

Daily Echo:

After weeks of intensive rehearsals, Alex is performing twice a night, six days a week, in the current show Féerie.

Féerie, which is seen by 600,000 people each year, features costumes in shimmering colours with thousands of feathers, rhinestones and sequins, original music and the famous French Cancan.

Daily Echo:

Alex comes from Hedge End, but has relatives in Fareham and Bishop's Waltham.

She said: "Being able to dance on the Moulin Rouge stage in Paris is something very special and I will always keep it with me.

"I have never expected my life to turn out this way but I’m so grateful that it did and it definitely feels like all the hard work has paid off!"
