UPDATE: Police have now identified the man and are speaking with him.

POLICE are looking for a cyclist who pushed a man on a mobility scooter on Southampton Common.

The cyclist had allegedly threatened to knock the man off his scooter.

At around 5.45pm on October 12, a man in his 20s was riding his mobility scooter along a main footpath near the centre of the park and stopped to let a cyclist pass.

It is believed the cyclist then threatened to knock him off the scooter, and the victim started to film him on his phone.

The cyclist then tried to take his phone and pushed him in the process.

A member of the public then intervened and the man left the scene.

Hampshire police are investigating the incident as an assault and believe the man pictured may have information that could assist them, and would like him to contact them.

They are also asking for anyone who knows the man pictured, or anyone who was a bystander and stopped to intervene, to contact them.

Contact police by calling 101 or reporting online on their website, quoting 44220415766.
