A HUNT has been launched after a man tried to abduct a 12-year-old child waiting at a bus stop.

The boy was waiting for a bus on Windermere Avenue, outside Millbrook Towers at 9.25am.

A man came up behind him and grabbed hold of his arm, telling him to ‘come with me’.

The child punched the man in the ribs and was able to flee, running down Green Lane.

The man attempted to follow the boy down the road on two occasions before the boy finally ran away, at around 9.30am.

The incident happened on November 8.

The man has been described as white, aged in his 30s, 5ft10ins to 6ft tall, with short, dark brown hair, and of large build.

He was also described as having a scar mark on his left cheek and was wearing a waist length, dark blue raincoat.

Police have released an e-fit of the man they would like to speak to about the incident.
