TRIBUTES have been paid to a loving grandmother at the centre of a murder investigation. 

Lorraine Mills, 63, was found dead at her home in Mansel Road East, Southampton, at around 8.30pm on Monday. 

Her family has now paid tribute to her in a joint statement: "Our loving mother, sister, grandmother Lorraine, you have been taken from us so tragically. 

"You will be sadly missed and will always be in our hearts. We love you to the moon and back forever."

Her family continue to be supported by specialist officers.

Richard Shaw appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court this morning in connection with her death. 

The 48 of Derby Road, Southampton, has been charged with murder and is now due to appear at Winchester Crown Court next Monday.

A 38-year-old woman, arrested earlier this week as part of the police investigation, has been released and will face no further action. 

Police officers have been carrying out enquiries into Lorraine's alleged murder and carrying out patrols in the Millbrook area of the city.
