This was first reported around 9am on Friday and went on all day, with passengers being asked to source taxis and buses and claim the expense back from the train company.
Carnage at Southampton Central train station. Many staff in orange and blue but most don't know what's going on. Have walked back and forth between platforms, grateful that I can walk easily. Hoping I will at least get a refund... it's bloody cold! @SW_Help @nationalrailenq pic.twitter.com/cPecKVDoge
