PLANS for an ‘eyesore’ 5G mast which left residents up in arms have been rejected.
People living in Endeavour Close, Southampton will breathe a sigh of relief after plans for an 18m 5G pole have been refused by planning chiefs.
Some residents said they only found out about the plans after spotting workers surveying the area.
At the time, Terry Garnaway, of Endeavour Road, said the mast would stand too close to his property.
The 74-year-old said: “I don't want it since I'm living across from it. I don't want to sit in my kitchen and look out onto a large 5G mast.”

Mum-of-two, Anna Bulinska, said she didn’t think the plans should go ahead without a consultation.
She said: "I've lived here for five years and didn't think anyone could do something like this without speaking to people who live nearby."
Previously, the council said masts do not need planning permission or prior approval as long as they are not taller than 20 metres.
However, plans have now been rejected on the basis that the proposal has a “significant adverse impact on the visual quality of the street”.
