FATHER Christmas will be making a pitstop in Southampton this week ahead of his busiest night of the year.
The big man in red will be at the city’s Christmas Market in Above Bar Street on Friday from 10am to 8pm.
The visit was made possible by broadband provider toob who stepped in to provide festive fun.
Nick Parbutt, CEO and founder of toob, said: “When we heard that there was a risk that Father Christmas might not be at the Market this year, we knew we had to help.

“I am delighted that toob will be involved with this year’s Christmas market in Southampton.
“I am especially pleased that we can bring Santa to delight the city, along with a singing elf to add some extra Christmas cheer to the market this year.”
Set to take over a market chalet by Urban Outfitters, the grotto will be filled with treats, including a spinning wheel of fortune, with goodies up for grabs.
There will also be a photo frame for a selfie opportunity with Father Christmas and his singing elf.

Lord Mayor Cllr Jacqui Rayment said: “I’m incredibly delighted to hear that Father Christmas is visiting Southampton just before his busiest night of the year.
“I know the children in the city will be just as excited as I am, and I’ll be sure to head down to the Christmas Market to put in a good word.
“The Christmas offering in Southampton has already brought joy to so many, and I’m really glad that toob are able to invite a Father Christmas for everyone to enjoy.”
