BLUESTAR has announced plans to expand services on some of its routes.

The bus company says routes serving Sholing and Lordshill will see additional evening journeys.

The changes will come into force once the operator takes over City Reds routes next month.

From Sunday, February 19, the Bluestar 19 service from Lordshill to Thornhill, re-routed via Maybush Corner instead of Warren Avenue, will run every 15 minutes, Monday to Friday.

On Saturday, the service will run every 20 minutes.

And 8.56pm from Sholing to the city centre.

The bus company has advised customers to download the Bluestar app to plan their journey and track buses.

Passengers will also be notified about updates that may affect their journey.

Bluestar is managed by Go South Coast, which also owns MoreBus in Dorset and Salisbury Reds.

To help families with the rising cost of living, the company is taking part in a government scheme that sees more than 130 bus operators cap single fares at £2 until Friday, March 31.
