A motorist is at it again, dumping their car in front of a Southampton fire station.

Firefighters based in St Mary's have posted a new image of a car dumped right in front of the doors used by crews on their way to an emergency.

In a tweet posted on the station's social media account, the caption said: "At least this shopper tried to park (poorly) between the lines. Guess what? They were sorry!"

The car is placed right in front of one of the gates right by a sign saying 'No stopping'.

Cars blocking exits outside fire stations are a common issue in Southampton with the police and fire service trying to educate drivers on the dangers of doing so.

On New Year's day, the station also shared a picture of a silver car parked right in front of the gates at the station with the caption "New Year, same issues".

Speaking in May last year, Station Manager, Nev Lewendon, said: "The issue of motorists blocking the paths of emergency services vehicles is worse than ever before.

"It isn’t only drivers stopping by station exits and leaving their cars on our grounds, we are also impacted by cars parked opposite one another on certain roads, making those roads inaccessible.

"We are acutely aware of the difference that can be made in the safety of those who summon our help in being delayed even by such small amounts of time."
