A NEW Forest road is completely blocked after a river burst its banks following heavy rain overnight.

A van is stuck after attempting to cross deep water at Ashurst Bridge Road.

The road is completely impassable causing school-run misery for parents and pupils of Foxhills Infants and Junior Schools who use it as a 'park and stride' point.

Daily Echo:

Lorries are not able to access the Southern Water plant and there is more flooding close to Bartley Skate Park and along Larchwood Road in West Totton.

Surrounding roads were at a standstill this morning, thanks partly to roadworks on Redbridge Causeway causing major delays into Southampton and jamming up roads in and around Totton.

There are currently delays of around an hour, stretching back up Spicers Hill towards Ashurst.

The Met Office is forecasting an improvement in the weather this week. It should be cold, but mostly dry and sunny.
