SAINTS are calling time on their city centre shop at the end of the month.

The Saints store in The Marlands Shopping Centre will close its doors for good, leaving the stadium store at St Mary's the only place to buy a good selection of official Saints merchandise in the city.

The club say it will allow them to introduce a click-and-collect service at the stadium store as well as plan regional pop-ups during busy shopping periods.Daily Echo: The Saints shop in The Marlands will close at the end of JanuaryThe Saints shop in The Marlands will close at the end of January (Image: Newsquest)

A Southampton Football Club spokesperson told the Daily Echo: "It means we can offer a click-and-collect service that will make it easier for our supporters to shop for Saints merchandise.

"Staff who currently work at the Marlands store are being offered positions at the stadium shop, which gives us the opportunity to introduce click and collect. You can order online and then pick up your item(s) on the same day, or another time that suits you, something we're keen to introduce following fan feedback.

"The freeing up of staff means the potential for regional pop-up stores too, that would open for fans during the busiest shopping periods in the footballing year."

The shop will shut on January 31, the night Saints face Newcastle in the second leg of the league cup semi-final with the winners set to enjoy a trip to Wembley at the end of February.Daily Echo: The Saints shop in The Marlands will close at the end of JanuaryThe Saints shop in The Marlands will close at the end of January (Image: Newsquest)

Between now and then, fans can bag some bargains with lots of cut-price goods available in the Marlands store. There's everything from kits to Saints branded merchandise at sale prices.

The store originally opened in November 2021 as a pop-up shop.

Situated in the unit which previously housed the Disney store for 26 years, it followed the closure of the club's Westquay shop in January of the same year.

At the time, the club said it was part of their ongoing plans to improve the retail offering, which saw an overhaul of the online retail store as online sales spiralled during the Covid pandemic when the club's stores were closed.

No date has yet been announced for the launch of click-and-collect services.
