A warning has been issued after burglars targeted sheds and garages in a spree lasting over a week.

Residents in West End have been urged to remain on their guard following the spate of burglaries last month.

A total of seven burglaries were reported to police between January 19 and 31, with a Lambretta scooter and several tools among the items stolen.

Officers are investigating the following incidents:

  • A shed burglary at an address in Helford Gardens overnight between January 19 and 20. A toolbox was stolen. (Reference: 44230041355.)
  • A garage burglary in Wyle Close the following night, whereby a quantity of alcohol was stolen. (Reference: 44230037730).
  • A shed burglary at an address in Harbourne Gardens between January 19 and 22. Multiple items were stolen including golf clubs, a Bosch cordless hammer drill, a belt sander, and a socket set. (Reference: 44230037272).
  • Another burglary occurred in Harbourne Gardens between 7pm on January 22, and 7am on January 23. A Lambretta scooter, fishing gear, and gardening equipment were stolen from a shed. (Reference: 44230031106).
  • A shed break at an address in Culvery Gardens between 5am and 5.30am on January 28. A hedge trimmer and charging pack was stolen. (Reference: 44230037272).
  • A burglary in a garage in Duddon Close on January 28. Multiple tools were stolen. (Reference: 44230037730).
  • A garage burglary in Kennet Close overnight between January 30 and 31. A guitar monitor was stolen. (Reference: 44230041355).

Work is ongoing to establish whether these incidents are connected.

A spokesperson from the police said: “We would like to hear from anyone with information on any of these incidents.

“Did you notice anything suspicious? Perhaps you saw someone hanging around the area?

“Anyone with information can phone 101 with the relevant reference number listed with the incident above.”
