A NEW Tesco Express is set to open next to Southampton Central Station.

The store at Overline House will open its doors for the first time at 9am on Thursday, February 16.

In addition to providing 23 new jobs, the store brings with it food bank donations and Tesco’s Community Grants funding opportunities for local good causes.

Tom Phillips, the store’s manager, said: “We’re hugely excited to be opening our new Southampton Central Station Express to help support the community.

“The store opening will provide a real boost for Southampton, helping to employ and train local people, and it’ll be a pleasure to see our colleagues grow and develop.

“We are really looking forward to welcoming so much new talent and experience into our Tesco team.

“We will of course also promote Tesco’s Community Grants scheme, with the aim of donating thousands of pounds for local good causes that can help the community to flourish.”

The store will be open from 6am to 11pm, Monday to Sunday.

It will feature a bakery, Costa Coffee Express machine and an Evri collections and returns service.

Meal deals and lottery tickets will also be sold.
