AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a girl was followed home by a man.

Police said "the youth" was walking home when she noticed she was being followed by a man in West End.

She was followed for around 10 minutes.

The incident began on Megan Road, leading to Quob Lane and then to Brookside Way, where the individual was confronted and he fled the scene.

The male is described as being in his 30s, white, slim build, and around 5ft 10.

He is described as having brown hair, and wearing a long-sleeved light grey Adidas coat with the Adidas logo on the front.

The incident happened at around 12pm on Wednesday, February 15.

Now, police are appealing for any witnesses as well as CCTV and dashcam footage.

A spokesperson said: "With the area in question being a residential area, we are appealing to local residents and those who were passing through at the time, to come forward if they witnessed anything.

"We would also encourage those who have video doorbells, CCTV systems and dashcams to check the footage for anything they feel may prove useful to the investigation.

"If you did see something or do have footage, please contact the police on 101 or through the Hampshire Constabulary website https://orlo.uk/FCRpe quoting reference 44230064553."
