A family were held hostage as an armed gang ransacked their home.
Up to seven men broke into a property in Mortinmers Lane, Upham, stealing cash, jewellery and a vehicle.
The victims - a couple and their adult son - were threatened at knifepoint and held in a room for six hours, say police.
Perry Lee Osborne was found guilty of aggravated burglary and false imprisonment following a trial at Southampton Crown Court.
Appearing at the same court today, the 32-year-old, of no fixed address, was locked up for 11 years.
Speaking after today’s sentencing, Police Staff Investigator Lynn Levett said: “This was an horrific ordeal for the family but they have remained steadfast in their support of a prosecution.
“A lot of the items that were stolen had a monetary value, but the sentimental value was far greater.
“I hope this sentence reassures people that we take all crimes of this nature seriously and will do everything we can to ensure violent offenders are brought to justice.”
The incident happened on December 19, 2020.
