Emergency services were called to Cobden Bridge last night over concerns for the welfare of a woman.

The incident was reported to police at 8.15pm.

After arriving at the scene, the woman was treated by paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called at about 8.15pm yesterday (3 March) to a concern for welfare report for a woman on Cobden Bridge.

"Officers attended and the woman was passed into the care of the South Central Ambulance Service."

Hamble lifeboat was also called out but was stood down before launching.
